Sunday Share...

As promised...I wanted to share some ideas with you using the set "I {HEART} Hearts" Set. I'm not sure if you saw my post on January 22nd...but you can view it HERE!
It will let you know how purchasing this set in
Wood #117010 - $26.95
OR
Clear #118571 - $18.95 (Acrylic block D recommended)
will help those who have suffered in Haiti and get relief. So below are (7) ideas for you in how you can use this this wonderful set all year round.

This card I CASED from another Demonstartor...Angie Kennedy-Juda. She had her card turned the other way, and hers a bit more simplified...but I loved her colors and tried to work with the same.

This card was fun and simple to make...The largest heart that says Friend is actually on the inside of the card. I used the Large Heart Punch to cut out a peek through window in my card. The rest of the hearts are on the top (front) of the card.

This was a fun card to make. I used markers to color the hearts and then stamped and punched or cut them out.

This is such a sweet and simple card to make. It uses two items that you can get for FREE when you place a Sale-A-Bration order...the Scallop Trim Punch and also the Whimsicle Words Set. The colors I used are Whisper White, Soft Suede, and Pretty In Pink.

This card was taken straight from a Demo that was shared at Leadership this year. I did put my own personal touches on it.

And last...but not least are (2) tags I made using this set. The salutations are from other sets. So as you can see this set is quite versatile and can be used year round, and when you purchase it between now and February 28th, $2.00 from every set will be donated to help those in Haiti.
Thanks for stopping by - Kendra

UP-COMING CLASS -

"Love is in the Air"
Class Details are on flyer below - Please email me @ skjj4richardson@msn.com if you can't read it, and I'll send it to you in an email where you can enlarge it!

Saturday Sketches...

Try this sketch when you get a chance to play. Make it work for you...I made a 3x6" card instead of a regular size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card. I also used a technique called "Spotlighting". It's where you spotlight just a small section of the stamp and have the rest un-colored.
I hope your having a wonderful weekend and get a chance to create - Kendra

Scrapbook Basics!

Did you know???

Scrapbooking has been around since people were able to develop film and have photos in their possession. It is a way to visually preserve moments, feelings, or experiences in your life that might otherwise be written down or even forgotten.

It all started in 1976 when Marielen W. Christensen, began keeping a book of photographs in new devices called "Sheet Protectors". By 1980 she had assembled over fifty of these books, and she was asked to display them at the World Conference on Records in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Since then the door of scrapbooking has been opened and flooded by people wanting unique and interesting ways to remember their pasts, their feelings, their likes and dislikes, and their experiences.

Scrapbooking is a great way to provide future generations with a history, or at least a peek into the life you and your family are living right now. Scrapbooking doesn't have to be on a grand scale...start small and evolve into this great craft. Start with a birthday, graduation, marriage, or even a vacation that just happened. Don't try to start at the very beginning...you'll just get overwhelmed. Start Small and big things will come from it!

Excitement is in the Box!

So today my wonderful hubby brought in boxes that he found on the porch when he got home. The boxes looked different to me and upon further inspection...I realized they were new, and had to take pictures to share the excitement with you!
This is the side view of the box.

This is the top view of the box!

Sale-A-Bration is such an exciting time of the year. SU! is one of the few companies that rewards their hostesses and customers so generously and every year holds this promotion. This year there are even more choices of stamp sets than normal, and for the first time ever...SU! is offering a Punch as a Sale-A-Bration item...and man is it cute. I just LOVE this Scallop Trim Punch! So click on the catalog above and take a peek at what I'm talking about - you won't want to miss out on these limited items.

Wednesday's Inspiration Challenge...

Use this picture as inspiration this week when you get time to create. Even if you can't take 15 minutes this week...take 5 and draw a sketch or outline using something from this picture for your inspiration - colors, shapes, composition, or a particular item...have fun with it!

Tuesday's Technique, Tool, or Tutorial...

Today it's a TOOL!

This is our SU! Hobby Blade & Refills

#102449 - $4.50

The Stampin' Up! Hobby Blade features a rear-release blade for easy blade replacement and the hex nut on the end of the knife keeps it from rolling. It has a cushioned handle to reduce hand fatigue, comes in a convenient storage tube, and can be used with any self-healing mat.

I love my hobby blade! It has come in handy if I need to trim the smallest thing to cutting slits in card stock. Keep this in mind to add to your little bag of crafting tools!

January Clubs On-Time Drawing Prize

January Club Members Gift - Mini Valentine Card

PROJECT: Valentine Card using new glassine bags & Clear Love Bandit Stamp Set available in the Mini Ocassions

TECHNIQUE CARD: This Technique is called "Faux Silk". You stamp your image on tissue paper and then crinkle it up. Adhere it then to CS using SU! Glue Stick & turn it into a beautiful card!

CARD & PROJECT CLUB MAKE-N-TAKE: "Under Five" Card - which means you can accomplish this card in under five minutes. Each club member got to use this Sale-A-Bration Set "Happy Moments", in the new Clear version with our terrific Acrylic Blocks.

This page was demonstrated at the Scrapbook Club. It is an Under Ten page. I used the new Designer Series Paper Stack in the Occassions Catalog and a 12x12 piece of Taken with Teal CS. I also used one of my new favorite items..."Sweet Pea Stitched Felt Flowers", and adhered them dierectly over the flowers already on the page for a 3-D effect with Tombow liquid glue.

This is a fun page I demonstrated to the clubs this month. By using a wheel (the one I used was "I {LOVE} Love", and I wheeled it in Chocolate Chip Ink, and then on scrap paper I wheeled it in Real Red so that I could cut out some of the pieces to be able to highlight them. I also used the new set "I {HEART} Hearts" in Clear ($2.00 from every set ordered goes to Haiti Relief fund through the American Red Cross - see post earlier in week for more details), and also the new Epoxy Brads in Chocolate Chip & Real Red.

This is a close up of how I highlighted the wheel.

This page was the Scrapbook Make-N-Take page this month. New clubs are forming and will begin in March...so contact me to get all the details and put your name on the list! Happy Stamping - Kendra

HELP THOSE IN NEED...

On January 12th, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in it's wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from outside to cope.
From now until February 28th, 2010 - $2.00 from every I {HEART} Hearts Set sold will be donated to the American Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long term support through supplies, technical assistance, and other support to help those in need.
In the past, when terrorists attacked the Twin Towers, when a Tsunami struck Indonesia, when a Hurricane destroyed New Orleans, and when Wildfires ravaged Australia...Stampin' Up! Demonstrators have stepped forward and showed their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others...this time is no different.
You too can make a difference by purchasing this wonderful set like I and many other demonstrators have. I will be sharing many ideas over the next month using this set...thus insuring that you have ideas and ways to use this set as a Thank You from me to you.

Friday's Spotlight...

Today's Spotlight is on...
Perfect Polka Dots Stampin' Up! Textured Impressions Die $7.95 #117335

*Use with your Big Shot or comparable machine

These two cards were for a swap that I was apart of. On both cards I used the textured plate to create a background piece and an accent piece that I rubbed my ink pad over the top of to make the polka dots really pop. If you haven't tried this textured die yet - you will want to add it to your wish list!

Scrapbook Basics!

Embellishments...
Embellishing your scrapbook pages is like coordinating an outfit for prom. There are so many things you have to take into consideration when your planning out every detail of a scrapbook page. The main things to consider are...Theme, Color, Space (how much of the page you want to cover), and the Embellishments you feel will help convey the theme of the page to the viewer. Remember...you are going for clarity, not clutter! Properly arranged, embellishments will add to a page. Use to many, and they will compete with your photos, and they may get lost in the clutter.
