A FEW IDEAS FOR MOTHER'S DAY

Here are just a few ideas for a quick - but very cute Mother's Day gift & cards. I used the "True Friend" set (a favorite of mine lately!). I used Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White CS for the cards. I also embelished them with ribbon, flowers, pearls & rhinestone brads from the Pretties Kit.
For the Door Hanger - I used Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, and Whisper White CS. Mellow Moss 1/4 " Grosgrain ribbon and a peel and stick definition for scrapbooking (not Stampin' Up!). My DH took me for a date night and we went to dinner at Chilies. While there I asked if I could buy some coasters from them. Our waiter brought back a handful and said take em'. So this was an idea from my good friend Sue Brown that I copied. It does make a cute Mother's Day gift for a sister, girlfriend, teacher or your mom! Happy Stamping. Kendra

After School Project

The picture I took is not great , but hopefully you can get the idea. I wish to heaven I could remember where I found this idea ...some very creative Stampin' Up! Demonstrator's Blog - but I can't find it again to give her credit for the idea. OOPS!

But her idea was wonderful when I came across it while looking for something to do with an after school program called "Suncatchers" at the nearby elementary school. My friend, Connie, is a kindergarten teacher there and asked if I could help out with an activity. Each of the 20 girls will make a lunch bag purse and a card to go inside. This one uses the "Garden Whimsy" set. I hope they like it! This would be a cute idea for party favor bags...or even to hold a gift in. Just some ideas for you.

Baptism Bracelet

A friend of mine shared this cute poem with me and asked if I could make some cards to hold the white Baptism Bracelets she and her daughter had made for some cousins upcoming baptisms. The turned out cute and were simple. I didn't want to overshadow the bracelet, poem, nor the reason for the gift - so kept it simple.

Here is the poem:

I used So Saffron & Whisper White cardstock. 1/4 " Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, and 1/2 pearls from the pretties kit in the middle of the flowers.(the background paper and silk flowers are non - stamping up items)

Up Coming Classes

I know I haven't taught these classes yet, but I have had some requests to post the pictures on the blog...so here they are!

This class is a technique class on; Iris Folding.

These two pictures are of a project time class; Photo Albumn Purse

(I have to give credit where credit is due. This idea came from Jan Tinklenberg - she has great ideas!)

Scrapbook Purse

Second picture is of the inside of the purse.
This would make a wonderful Mother's Day gift.

The next class I'm holding is our Stamp-A-Stack and these are the four cards were doing this month. Since it feels like spring here in Tucson, Az. - I wanted to go with a flower theme.
The last class is also a technique class; Scratch & Sniff Cards. This is using the new "Tart & Tangy" set and Designer Series Paper - Summer Picnic, from the latest Occasions catalog. I LOVE THESE TWO ITEMS!!!

SET OF THE MONTH: Zoofari

The "Zoofari" set is on page 72 of the Spring-Summer 2008 Catalog. It has (6) stamp images that make really cute kid cards. But it also works well for adult cards. The card at the left was made using the bird stamp image and stamped in black on Whisper White. Then I used my blender pen and my Stampin' Up! water color crayons to color each of them in. I then used the large oval punch and paper pierced around the oval and straight across the card in a double line. I layed this on top of a peice of Blue Bayou & stamped, Thank You, from the "Short & Sweet" set. I added some of the double stitched ribbon in Blue Bayou to complete the card. I saw this idea on another blog and copied it - I wish that I could give that person the credit for this card properly, but I cannot find it now & do not know their name. But, obviously you can see, she has terrific ideas! Try using your "Zoofari" set to make cards other than kid cards, and if you don't have this set...it's one you'll definitely want to add to your collection! HAPPY STAMPING.

Fun with Die Cut Blooms & Designer Paper

In these two cards I used the "Summer Picnic" designer series paper and the "Die Cut Blooms". I love both of these items that are offered in the newest mini occasions catalog. They are so fun to create whimsical cards! You can view the occasions mini catalog at my web site; http://www.scrapmom.stampinup.net/ . Click on "Stampin' Up! Products, and the click on, "On Line Catalogs". Enjoy!
